I ordered my new laptop off Amazon today and a bunch of accessories and I'm super excited now!

It's an ASUS Zenbook Prim UX31A so it's only going to be 13.3'' which is going to be weird for me since I'm very used to my laptop of four years now, a 15.6'' Toshiba Satellite. It's supper thin and light though and sexy looking and I'm pretty sure that after months of shopping it was the only real choice. When I first ran across one of the first Zenbook models in PC mag's Ultrabook reviews I discounted it was too expensive and flashy, but dang, the design gave me chills. I probably should have recognized love at first sight.

I spent several hours yesterday shopping for an awesome sleeve for it and I ended up getting a really cool one with Vincent van Gogh's Starry Night on it. (I'm not much of a fan of his works normally, but that one strikes a cord with me.) I was looking for something Doctor Who related and perhaps a bit TARDIS-y but couldn't find anything that quite fit my needs. So I've settled for 'Vincent and the Doctor' style, but with less Doctor.

Do you ever just want to slap people after reading their summaries on fanfiction.net? Not all of them obviously, mostly just the ones who start it off with "Really bad at summaries" and end with "better than it sounds". Whenever I see one of those I'm like "I want you to sell me your story, not beg for my forgiveness! You can do that in the author's note, before and/or after each chapter should you so choose."

For those of you who don't know, I read an altogether unhealthy amount of fanfiction, so I run into a lot of this sort of thing, and it's really become a pet peeve of mine. Apologies for venting on all of you unsuspecting people, but I just read another one. Ugh.

I've never been much with backgrounds, I've done some really nice ones, but the background usually plays an especially important role in those pictures. Most of my work is fore-ground only. I've recently figured out how to do GIFs and PNGs with transparency so basically I've figured out I can ditch them entirely! Take that ugly blank white space! With the exception of some simple frame-type things as a backdrop, I've completely abandoned backgrounds, and in many cases, border's entirely. It's really liberating, and I actually really love it. I may experiment with some funky shaped images in the future now that I've figured this out. ^^

Also, I'm getting very close to 10,000 page views. What do you guys think I should do for it? I meant to do something for 5,000 before, but I was bussy and I missed it by quite a bit so... Ideas?

I caught a brief a brief allusion to Doctor Who earlier. There were TARDIS noises behind a queen song during the music through the decades part of the show.

Also Kazakhstan's flag is my favorite! ^^
